- Make a weed-killing answer using one of several recipes along with apply it with a spray jar. A simple solution of 0.5 tablespoon of liquid dish-washing detergent and 2 glasses of vinegar works well. Another remedy, recommended by the University associated with Washington, includes 1 tea spoon of gin, 1 tea spoon vinegar, 1 teaspoon associated with dish-washing liquid per yard of water.
